I've been cooking up a storm the past few months (SLOWEST COURTSHIP EVER!!!) but look what my carpenter friend is getting for Christmas!
|
I would think that any outdoorsy type fabric would be great for him since he works outdoors. As to the pattern I can't improve on what has been suggested already.
Good luck with the romance. |
This is such a fun thread! I'm excited for you. You know he's interested or he wouldn't keep coming back. And he now knows you can cook and bake (lasagna, pie, cobbler), and apparently he likes to eat, so this sounds VERY promising. The quilt is great and he is sure to love it, especially since you chose Carpenter's Wheel. That will make it more special to him.
Please keep the updates coming. Good luck. I'm rootin' for you, girl! |
There are some old patterns out with carpenter's tools on them. If you want me to, after the holidays I can go through my collection and find the name of the companies that produced them. My guess is that I bought them in the 90's.

What a sweet story We all want to know how this works out!

I am having a ball reading this thread. First off, it is a gorgeous quilt, I like the simplicity of the colors, I think it gives the design drama. Sounds to me like you have been enjoying a long and flavorful courtship - did you ever get the opportunity to invite him over for dinner? I hope he enjoys his Christmas present, you did a wonderful job on it!

Just saw the post - OMG that is beautiful and so appropriate.
