I am currently working on...all at the same time:

Hand-quilting a twin-size nine-patch
Piecing a full-size civil war quilt
Piecing a lap-size diary quilt
Slowly piecing a...not sure the size...scrappy crazy quilt
Planning a grandmother's flower garden

I have all of this going on at the same time!!! I have to be crazy insane...someone stop me! lol

suezquilts 10-04-2011 04:48 PM

Gee, I can't help any! I would just enable!
I have a King size broken dishes quilt started on my design wall.
I have a pinwheel lapquilt in progress.
What did I do? I started an Autumn Lap quilt and would like to get it finished by the 15th!. In between this, I made up 2 quick baby quilts, 6 burp cloths, a couple of potato bags. Also bought all the material for a man quilt for my boss for Christmas! Starting next week on this!
Yea, I am no help!

barny 10-04-2011 05:04 PM

My mother-in-law used to keep 2 or 3 going all the time. that way she didn't get tired of any of them. Wish I had her here now to quilt with me.

MoanaWahine 10-04-2011 05:05 PM

Well, now I do not feel so bad

I have a Christmas Throw in progress
Trying to learn Applique while using my kids as the beneficiaries of the results (Design in progress)
Table Topper waiting for me to finish the FMQ
A butterfly quilt waiting for my first attempt of Applique to be finished
At least 5 to 6 tops waiting to be FMQ (Nothing bigger than a lap quilt)
A couple small bags cut out but not yet started to sew
Finally, wanting to get some Mug Rugs done for Christmas

Sounds like we work a lot a like in the Quilting world. At least I am enjoying every minute of the craziness that I have caused myself :-D

Almost forgot the quilt that I have on a temporary design wall that is folded up at the moment. Need to bring that out to make sure I like the layout of the fabric.

MimiLinda 10-04-2011 05:07 PM

I guess it just runs in our blood. LOL!!

Christmas quilt that needs to be quilted.
Grandson's quilt that needs to be quilted.
One I need to finish piecing.
Fabric all ready for a fall quilt.
One more Christmas tree wall hanging to finish for a friend.

BrendaK 10-04-2011 05:28 PM

I used to be one of those people that started one project and worked at it until it was finished. Somehow when I wasn't looking my project list ran to having 4 lap quilts (Christmas gifts) and a baby quilt that needs to be done in the next three weeks. Don't even know how big a lap quilt or baby quilt should be. Well quess we have to just keep pluging along. Good luck all in finishing your lists. BrendaK

I'm so glad to know we are all normal.

MaryAnnMc 10-04-2011 05:33 PM

This makes me feel much better. I thought I was just lazy, or procrastinating.

im finishing my avatar block with handquilting.
I started a pinwheel tablecloth for my sister, but set it aside.
Just finished a series of cathedral window samples, and want to do one more.
I have a sampler quilt planned and shopped for, but haven't started.
But I want to work the sampler before I start my big Irish quilt.
But then, I may do the small Irish quilt first.

Hmmm, decisions, decisions. I won't even mention the ones I have in my head.

cmagee84 10-04-2011 05:51 PM

I guess we are all in good company! I am proud to be counted among this group! :) :) :)

gigi10 10-04-2011 06:47 PM

Oh You are in the wrong place for help here. We are all enablers. We all need help ourselves. I am a fabric addict, myself. I have to touch fabric alot and I think I have more goinig than you do.

gingerella 10-04-2011 07:37 PM

After reading all of the above, I can't believe I have always considered myself a "loner" -- Looks as if I'm anything but. I'm in the middle of a very large crowd, it seems.

Nothing more soothing to the soul than just sitting in front of a sewing machine and quietly sewing the afternoon away. But I also jump from project to project. I do eventually finishing most of them, mostly. I do get bored with something I've been working on especially a large quilt and nearly have it finished. But then, I get bored and pick up something new to get enthusiastic over - for a while anyway. However, this habit has given me a huge scrap pile and a fantastic stash. There's good can come of it, girls. LOL

Jim 10-04-2011 10:18 PM

I always keep 10 - 12 going year round to avoid going crazy with just one

MacThayer 10-04-2011 10:29 PM

My Mother would have said: "Dear, don't you think you should finish one thing before you go on to the next?" That's just the way she thought, and the way she worked. She was a great seamstress, and she quilted (one at a time).

My Great Grandmother, who taught me more about quilting than anyone else, would have said: "You go Girl!" Honestly. She was like that. A simply awesome woman. And I must take after her because there isn't room here for my list of current projects, and never mind the ones piled up in my head!

You go Girl!

quilt-fanatic 10-05-2011 12:05 AM

I would just call you girls AMBITIOUS!

stitchengramie 10-05-2011 12:09 AM

I also have several projects going at the same time. I just alternate my projects each day and work on them.
