Question on having your sewing machine repaired.
I just had my sewing machine repaired and when I got home it sewed for 20 minutes and broke again. I took it back and they fixed it again. They told me the parts where free but I had to pay for labor again. Is this common practice?

It may be, but it is a crummy practice, I think. I wouldn't use him again.

If it was the same thing, then it should have been free. I would think anything would have more than a 20 minute warranty. I'm not impressed with that repair shop.
|
If it was the exact problem, I would tell them they didn't fix it right the first time....

A 'repair' shop that isn't authorized is quite different than an authorized dealer/repair store. Most dealerships have some kind of warranty on labor. I know my specific dealer has a 90 day warranty on labor. The guy with a screwdriver down the street, however.....

Not with my sewing machine repair guy. He is the greatest and stands behind his work. I agree that I would not use that shop again.
|
That is horrible!! I would have asked him what he did the first time since whatever he did didn't fix it.

I did take it to an authorized dealer. And the machine was taken back with in 2 days.

I think we'd just have to have a come to Jesus talk on that one!!!! Who's to say that he won't fix it again and it will work for another 20 minutes? Nope, that just wouldn't work for me!
