I like this idea. I know my mom would enjoy one. I've bought her bed-jackets in the past. Actually, on our chilly sunporch, I wouldn't mind one myself. Thanks for posting that link, EasyPeezy.

I think it's a great Idea! Doesnt sound like it would be to hard... :)

What about a Kimono style with the sides sewn together so it wouldn't be sliding down the shoulders?

Maybe make it with arm holes also.

I would think it should be soft and *pliable* as opposed to stiff...kwim? Soft and cozy so it could be tucked here and there and not let those nasty drafts in. :)

I'm wondering if a flannel backing was used, if it would sort of kling and stay in place.
Be careful cooking with the extra fabric in the front, would be real easy to catch fire.
I may need to make myself one:)

There is also a book called 'Quilted Prayer Shawls' or something like that. I have it, but can't get to it. It is along the same lines as a crocheted prayer shawl, but this is warmer and men like these.
They are rectangular and a bit wider than say a runner.

I was thinking about making Prayer shawls. Possibly triangle or rectangle. I would love one for church!

My first thought was also a quilted prayer shawl.

I think the idea of flannel on the back is a great one. I may have to make one like that.
