Hi,
I have worn out my little beginner machine and looking to replace it I know that Janome is the brand I'd like to stay with. The nice man at the shop told me that he'd patch mine machine up to get me through Christmas presents but then I need to start looking for a new one.

Do you have any advice? What features do I need to embroidery & Quilt? Any advice is welcome!!!

Thank you!
Shanna

I highly recommend the Janome 6600. Great machine, a lot of features and very durable. The automatic cutter is to die for.

There are no embroidery functions on this machine. Don't know anything about embroidery.

if your guy has janomes on display, sit down and try them out. near me there are dealers who have every machine they sell out on tables for test-driving. if he doesn't do that, maybe someone else nearby does do it. you don't HAVE to buy it where you try it.

everyone here who has the 6600, seems to love it. do you want embroidery?

Thank you I will see if he will let me play with them. He's really nice & not pushy. He's been warning me for 2 yrs but this yr he said that next time he won't be able to get it back running for what I could to pay.

I would like to embroidery. Is this asking too much from a machine that will mostly be for quilting?

Do you know if Brother or another company are worth purchasing?

quiltsbybarb (above) says that it doesn't embroider, so you may want to try something else out. the embroidery may not be that important.

If you want to embroider yes, Brother and BabyLock are both worth looking into. I have the Brother 4000D, I don't use the embroidery features, thought I would but I think I would rather to it by hand.
Good luck and let us know what you decide:)

I think sewing machine preferences are like what kind of car you like. I LOVE my Janome 6600.
