Red face Quilting Software

Hey!
Does anyone use a quilting software program? If so, I would like to hear about it. What you like, don't like about it. I have a MAC and I'm looking into EQ7 and Quilt Pro (all for the MAC). Does anyone have suggestions, pointers, or disappointments to share?

Thanks! I always value "real" customer ideas and thoughts!

I also have EQ7. I go in phases where I use it a lot. I haven't used it much lately though.

Thank you all for the comments! I have looked at the EQ7 for MAC. I read a lot of reviews - some people say is it easy and others say it is not user friendly. At least now I know some people that have used it and like it!

Please realize that everyone is different. We all have different learning styles and processes. Don't allow yourself to be deterred by other people's experiences, because yours could be different and you won't know until you try.

If you have a guild or a couple of quilt shops in your area, ask if anyone has EQ7 installed. Find out if they could give you a demo, or maybe let you play around with it for an hour. I love EQ, I use it constantly. I showed my mom a few things and she decided she just had to have it. I put the word out and found a quilting friend who had purchased it but ended up not using it as much as she thought she would. We bought it from her for a very reasonable price.

I have EQ for Windows - do not know what differs for Mac. I love it - use it all the time, I have not seen QuiltPro, There is a great thread here on EQ7

The OP asked a similar question and there are loads of detailed answers to her post. The other thing EQ has a forum as well - you could join it and see what others are saying about EQ for Mac.

I can not believe that is varies greatly form the Windows version. There is a learning curve but for the most part is straight forward,

There have been many recent post on EQ. I agree with Dunster but I have EQ5. I have had two previous versions of the software. I like it because I can draw almost any quilt I see. With patterns, I can adjust the size of the block instantly. If you like paper piecing, it prints out patterns as separate units with seam allowance and the order to do the stitching. There is a learning curve to the program but that is the way it is with any software.

Peckish, thanks for the ideas! It is always a blessing for both parties when you find an item you want to purchase and can get it through someone else!
