My boygriend bought me a singer sew simple 2 yrs ago . I thought wow , a few more sts than what I had . The bubble burst real quick  The blasted thing keeps getting hung up and won't move . I have sent singer several e-mails . All they say is [ you haven't threaded the machine correctly ] Well bullsheet ! I am so blasted aggravated !
The first time I took out the bobbin case and ring out . The factory had the thing in sideways ! I kid you not ! It's a good thing I have an older singer that will only straight stitch . Won't zigzag [ needs some work done ] The repair people around here want $85.00 just to look at it , doesn't include any repairs . What to do ? Annie

I hope the fella that wants to buy his wife a new machine sees this! We like to buy our own machines from dealers who will look after us. Are there any on line web sites to get help? I wouild be upset if I couldn't get any decent help.

Make sure the bobbin thread and the upper thread are the same make. And make sure the bobbin thread was wound on this machine and not another. Insure the bobbin case is inserted properly, the correct bobbin is being used, and the machine is threaded properly. Then CALL tech support. These are some of the first questions they will ask you...
The $85 up front is usually a security payment to insure that you will come back and pick up your machine! In my experience, it is well worth taking a machine in for repair, I always get the repair done and a 'lube and tune'. My frustration and the time spent getting worked up to the point that whatever is broken takes a flying lesson? Cheaper to take it to the repair guy...

My last Singer was a piece of crap too - the commercial line. It got to the point where repairs were going to cost more than a new machine, so it sits on a shelf, neglected. I had used it for a couple years, and it cost more than the Kenmore/Janome I replaced it with.

The hang up is only part of the problem . The bobbin winder only winds half a bobbin ! Stops and won't wind any more . I always use the same thread [ upper and in bobbin ] .But thanks for the suggestion . I have tried different brands of thread , no effect .
Figure this out . In the book , says class 16 bobbins , not the right ones ! They won't fit in the bobbin case ! And yes they are singer bobbins . I don't mix and match them . Annie

I think this machine sells for about $350 so it would be worth getting checked out by a good repairman. Also I would call around and find a Singer dealer and take the machine in and say why won't this work! The dealer has the number of a live person at Singer and can get something done about the machine or can take it as trade in for different one.
