I refer to mine as the DUNGEON. I have racks to stretch things on, implements of pain, and about six machines to achieve different levels of stress. And lots of bats, oh wait, that is batting. Sweet peacefull bliss for me down there. Studio, I doubt it. Everyone knows I like my dungeon.

Frame of mind. At times I am also a fiberartis for people that are snobs about quilters. I find if it is my studio there is a unspoken, that is her room/sanctuary. If it is the spare room /bonus room/sewing room it is a free for all. I do have a bed in there, quilters get tired, but it is not a guest room and never will be.

When non-quilters visit me at home I find they are more accepting of my WIPs and all that goes with them when I use the term studio. It is like they are suddenly in awe of my artistic talents.

I wish someone would come clean my sewing I mean "studio". I will feed you dinner and dessert.
Haha I should put a sign on the door saying "Sewing Studio". LOL

To me its my sewing room...to my husband...its the junk room. If he can't figure out where to put something, it goes in my sewing room. No wonder I can't sew in there at the moment. He decided to clean out the closet below the stairwell and what he didn't know what to do with something it went in my room. And he complains because I sew on the dining room table and cut on top of the portable dishwasher. LOLOL.

Be it a dedicated room, or the corner of the couch, as long as it's your space to work your magic...
