Everyone likes different things for sure. Mark Lipinsky collects the old polyester quilts made in the 80's out of that horrible pants type fabric. I cannot imagine doing that.

I would not buy it because I have a big stash to use and am really focused on that right now.

Hope you have great luck and it is worth the effort.

A nice winter job.
That's what I would do, too. And I'd probably rearrange the blocks. Such nice cheery fabrics.

It looks like one of those class projects that schoolchildren made for a good cause.
A few brought in fabrics, they were all cut to much of a size and then those who finished their class work first were allowed to sew some of the blocks into strips. The strips were then sewn together. No rhyme or reason to the design; it was just 'patchwork'. Tied and not quilted, and tied onto an old blanket and not backed, kind of fits in with the whole 'making do' of the project idea.
For $2 though, there are some lovely prints in there

If you want to, go for it. It will be nice once repaired. A good winter job.

Would be great for a kid's room.
Besides she asked for opinions, she didn't say only those who have good or agreeing ones respond. Just like some say not to repair and some say do and others say do what you want. Which the latter is what I say. I don't think I'd take it all apart though. If the back isn't too bad I'd probably lay it flat and do a zig zag over the seams to hold them together and it'll add more quilting to hold all layers together so that it'll last longer.

Its so nice that not everyone has to agree or we'd all be very bored if we all liked the same things.

I think this could be a fun project. I would take it apart, and turn it into a tribute to 60s and 70s fashion by adding a sashing of denim (or denim-look fabric) to each block. Perhaps even back it with denim! You could name it, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" lol
