My resolutions are off to a good start! 1. Use up alot of my scraps! I have 15 years worth!!! 2. Drop those feed dogs and learn free motion. I have only stitched in the ditch till now. Also, teaching my 12 year old granddaughter to quilt (she's on her 3rd quilt and working on a 4th) and I need to get good at this to teach her. So, this is how I'm doing it...I've cut out and made kits I put in bags with it's pattern...I've cut out 60+ kits (all scrap quilts that will be anywhere from 40"x40" to 58"x78"--everyone of them have a different pattern and no two alike). I am a crafter and do only one-of-a-kind things. Grab one when I feel like it in-between keeping the craft booth things made up. Anyway, some will be donation quilts, some I will sell, and I might even keep a few...all will be practice for the free motion so I can get good. I have stencils I can trace with disappearing pen and use to follow. I use stencils that are really for painting projects...they work well. I will even trace from a simple coloring book, that works too. I also have a couple quilting stencils. I have found an actual stipple paper you use on the quilt and I also made a master copy of it on templar plastic, and can trace it out on tissue paper and attach to quilt...works well for this chicken-hearted quilter!
I have done 3 D9P, which I will post below. I did them with 5" squares I cut from scrap stash...the backs I do with 10" squares to sorta coordinate with the front...you only need 1/2 as many squares. Sorry so long winded. Here goes trying to post, hope it works.

Here's more D9P...the above one I will sell. The following have been donated to Safe Child. My daughter in N.C. is in charge of Safe Child for her guild...so I send them up there to her. I don't belong to a guild as I am much too busy. I go to hers when I visit her a couple times a year.

Ok, last post for tonight...the 3rd D9P. The only repeat patterns are D9P, all others are different patterns and I will never get bored and will even learn new techniques...

Looking good!!! I can't image cutting out 60 kits, although, maybe I should think about it since I'm sure they now take up a lot less room.LOL

Yes, cutting up all those kits went from making a big dent in my scraps to a plastic storage bin...everything is torn up and the room is chaos...I am in the midst of year end inventory getting things ready for taxes and that will take most of the rest of the month. I hope to re-vamp what I now have as alot of empty spaces in the material closet...that will be a big job! I have hit a couple yard sales (with quilt shop materials) and have several bags sitting, just waiting to fill up those empty spaces...also, I was searching for backing materials for all those quilts. I don't buy much over 2 yds. normally. Took all of Dec. to cut those kits out. Made 10 so far (all quilted and done) and 1 top waiting. I will post somemore pics. Some I don't have pics of yet. Those will get posted when I do. I also did Bonnie's "Double Delight" mystery quilt last month. Right now, I am involved in doing some new things for the shows...inventory is quite low right now. Enjoy the pics.

The above first 2 quilts were donated to Safe Child. The third one was donated to Quilts on Wheels (for the wheel chair crowd--and yes, I donate to that group too). The first quilt here is a quilt that was made in Scrap Therapy class. I donated it to Safe Child. The last quilt I'm posting tonight is a 5" charm squares quilt that was just cut from my scrap pile and no 2 squares are the same. I made it entirely on the serger. Very fast and easy to do. Will probably do more of those in with all the ones already cut out as I have LOTS of 5" squares from scraps...none of any of those type quilts will have any of the same squares in them. Not BORING!
    Anyway, enjoy these too.
