Of course I'm going to be different and say I like #4. Then I'd fmq, with gold thread, in the light cornerstones (is that the right term?)

I agree that the first is too light, and the third appeals to me the most for brightening up the quilt. However, I do like the red also, if you don't mind it staying in the darker tones.

You might Google Christmas quilts with brown. I saw this one that you also might consider which mixes some sashing colors.

Will look forward to seeing the beautiful outcome!

If you surround your blocks with a darker color, the whole quilt will look brighter and your blocks will shine in the relative spotlight.
