What color should I paint my quilting room?
#103
Right now my quilt room is 3 different shades of gray. It's an OK color and my quilts give it a pop of color. Before we moved into our new home, I painted my sewing room PURPLE, because I read on HGTV that purple was a creative color. I loved my purple room though the realtor didn't!!

my sewing room used to be DD's bedroom and she had it white. When it became my room I left it white...I was in a big hurry to convert it before she did one of those boomerang things and tried to come back home! That was 20 yeasr ago. There are shelves all over the wall, so who can see walls anyway? I think it's still white but who knows!? Who cares!? All I see is walls of shelves full of glorious colors.

I re-painted mine a soft, light buttery creamy yellow and I love it ... it doesn't compete and it's just enough color to brighten up the room. Take swatches home, look at them in both your daylight & night lighting. Store lighting is totally different. I taped up a bunch of swatches and tried several samples before I decided. I always use satin or eggshell finish on walls, someone mentioned semi-gloss here but that doesn't work well for rooms other than maybe bathrooms or laundry rms.
A friend just painted hers in the softest light sagey green shade and it is lovely. I want to use that shade somewhere now too!
