i buy clear acrylic sheets 1/8" - 1/4" thick at the home depot and dh cuts them out for me in his workshop. then he drills holes in the corner of each piece and i put them on a keychain with a label with i'm through. each piece is labeled in permanent marker. then i lose them.

Whatever you use to make the templates, lay a ruler along each edge of the template and rotary cut it. It's so much easier than using scissors.
