What Would Be Your Ideal Dream Space For Sewing and Quilting
If you could have a sewing and quilting room just the way you want what would it be like?
What colors would you paint the walls?
Would you have lots of lighting?
What would you have in it.
Just dream big.

Right now I'm sewing in my living room, so I would love my own room/ my own space. And in that space, I would like lots and lots or storage, a cutting table, room to lay out a quilt, and then wall space to hang up quilts that I have made.

You mean in addition to every piece of equipment to make sewing and quilting easy in every way?
A cleaning and organizing fairy. She would tidy up at the end of every day, putting things where they belong. She would also do all the pressing before my next project and she could read my mind.

I had the opportunity to do that a few years ago. I have no pets and awful allergies. What I felt was important was natural light, soft white walls, a walk-in closet with shelves, a dedicated iron circuit by a window, a place for the computer, and light cream, very short carpet that shows every dropped pin. Oh, and adjacent laundry. If the laundry were anywhere else, I'd never get it done.

a room twice the size of the one I have now. Less windows and more wall space for a large design wall or two. Overhead storage for rolled quilts. A larger cutting table at the right height. And more shelves. Maybe a long arm I'm not sure.

My sewing room "Toy Room" as I nicknamed it is in the basement. Its a far cry from what I had in my last house but now since moving here, arranging everything the way I want it and upgrading some items I find it no longer large enough. When is enough.............enough? I'm now in the process of changing out my fabric shelving as I want to use the laminated bookshelves in my library upstairs. Found a source in town here so now to just save the money to change out. Also in the process is changing out my design wall to add a 1 inch foam board behind it so I can use straight pins from time to time. Again found a source in town so will order the shelving and foam board at the same time. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with my sewing room. Its divided into 2 rooms.........machine room and cutting table/fabric room. I pretty much stay down here all day as I have my PC, phone, TV, music and a doorbell installed in case someone rings one of the doors upstairs. Added a sign on my patio door for those who know to come to the back door to just come on in and come on down, just listen for the music and follow it. Also not to let the kitty out no matter what she says.
In my dreams I just wish the rooms were a bit larger now that I have a larger quilting system and a larger cutting table to work at. But I now have all my machines out to be used as before I didn't so that's progress.
