I am brand new to long arm quilting and don't know where to get the thread or needles and what to even use. Any suggestions?

no license. I just got the long arm for my use. I don't plan on doing it for income until I retire.

some people use embroidery thread adn it does quilt up nicely. You can get it at www.metroemb.com they have great prices on all of thier threads. I used it when I first started longaming for Practice. Now some customers want it on thier quilts cause it is nice and has a great sheen to it. you can also use www.connectingthreads.com the lots of places online to order. but please do a lil bit of price checking before you make a purchase.

The long armers I know use Fil Tec thread. The new Glide machine quilting thread has every color you could want. Here is a link. To see the prices it says you have to be a member but membership is free. http://www.bobbincentral.com/

And you can request a free sample pack of the thread.

Most of the long Arm pro's That I know speak very highly of Superior Threads( hey have a web site) . They use the King Tut on the top , and the Bottom line thread in the bobbin.
I use alot of their threads for my home machine. Love the products.
