Default Where to sell a quilt!

Anyone have any suggestions on where to sell quilts? I have decided that I am going to start selling some of the quilts that I make.

eBay or set up an etsy shop...also try family and friends, local fabric shops, local quilt shops to see if they're interested. Word of mouth will get some business for you as well. Good Luck!

I didn't want to do the etsy route; I thought it might be too much for me.
I started selling my baby things in my beauty shop (the owner's suggestion) then she had another client that opened a small consignment shop. That's where my stuff is now.

Also check the guilds. Often when they have a quilt show, you can place a quilt for sale in the show. The guild typically takes 20-30% of the proceeds, so you have to price it accordingly. If you're a guild member, they may also have a consignment area during the show where you can place smaller items. The advantage of selling this way is that you have a ready audience of people who are interested in looking at quilts and helping the guild, and these people usually also have an appreciation of the time and expense of making a quilt. (On the other hand, many of them also quilt, so are less likely to buy a quilt unless it's exceptional or really well priced.)

    Try this
    Www.quiltsforsale.ca
It costs $10 to post a quilt and then they charge only 10% of the sale price.

Run an ad in the local newspaper. Our local paper runs it free if the product is under $100. Craigslist is another idea. You can sell anything on that. My DIL sells lots of things on Craigslist and gets good prices.

I'll be posting some on Craigslist next week, baby quilts in the Kids category and everything else under Arts and Crafts or Household.
