I have always done mine by machine. When I am that far in the game I want it over & done with. I think it makes them sturder. (JMO) My hands can't take that much hand sewing anymore any way.

I agree with you, it is just a personal opinion. I hand stitch mine but don't hate doing it unless I am on a time constraint. And yes the quilts that have machine stitched binding are beautiful as well.
I agree.I just can't hand stitch and it look good.

I like the look better with it done when it's done by hand.

I machine stitch what ever I can. That includes the binding. I usually sew to the front, flip it over, press well and stitch in the ditch. I have a SID foot that works wonderfully for this.

I prefer the hand stitching also, but I have found that when I FM quilt I have the tendency to machine sew my bindings. When I hand quilt I hand stitch my binding, just my personal preference!

I do machine bindings all of the time. If I had to do them by hand they would never get done. Now..all that said, it did take me awhile to learn to do a good job on the machine (just like everything else, takes practice).

This is for those who use the glue method what kind of glue do you use and do you have to wash it out after?

Finishing bindings is the only handwork I do and I find it fun and relaxing to do that in front of the TV.

I enjoy hand stitching and it gives me something to do in the same room as my husband while he watches tv.

Handing stitching is very relaxing and I do not like the look of machine stitched binding. Even Eleanor Burn's machine stitched binding does not met my quality control standards. To each her own!
