Because I love sewing, love fabrics, and just have a lot of fun doing quilts. I'm blessed with many people in my family who are happy to receive them!

I was raised to clean up my plate.
After ALL the money I've spent on sewing machines and fabric, "I better use it."
And my sister wouldn't let me alone until I started quilting.
    I love my sister.

When I quilt it's the only thing I think about until about 4.00 p.m. And then I have to figure out what to have for dinner!

Aside from just plain ol' loving it, I quilt because I wanted to leave something for all members of my family,. not just a worn out deck of playing cards...(I used to play Bridge...LOL).

I like to see what I can do with what I've got. I rarely buy anything because I have a stash of yardsale pieces I have picked up and scraps from sewing for years. It can be a challenge but it is also a lot of fun. I do have to buy backing sometimes I don't have many big pieces. I even surprise myself sometimes.

Both my Mom and Grandma always said if you have fabric you are rich and rich in being creative. I want to pass on to my children and there children quilts that I am making and hoping that they will inspire them to quilt. Up till now no one has had any interest in quilting and my oldest Grandaughter came to me resently that she wanted to learn how to quilt and the big shock was my son wants to learn. It drew tears of joy to me to know atleast two will cantinue the legacy of quilting.

I enjoy creating with fabric. I can't draw, don't like to scrapbook or paint. And I can "see" the creation in the fabric.

My mom taught me to embroider when I was 7. At 8 she taught me to crochet. As I got older I added counted cross stitch, needlepoint, and crewel. As an adult she tried to teach me to hand quilt and that didn't work out. By the time I was 42 I had to stop doing all hand projects due to carpal tunnel and arthritis. A dear friend told me to try machine quilting and it has been a sanity saver for me. I call it fabric therapy. I love creating something from pieces of cloth.

I quilt because I like to because it keeps me from getting so lonely because my bead addiction was way out of hand price wise when I spend 200 on fabric it keeps me busy for a long time when I spend 200 in beads I can use them up in 2 days sometimes now I dont spend $10-15 on 1 bead I still bead but mostly on wall hanging and because I want to leave my grandchildren something to remember me by
