I'm Using the QAYG method for the first time. I've only joined the first row of three blocks but other than it being the tiniest bit fidgety, I'm already loving it. It might be a little harder to work with the longer lengths of rows, but I'm already thinking this method is a winner. . Hope to get the time to join two rows later today.
I just got done quilting 6 blocks... half of the first throw quilt. So. Much. Fun. I usually use my 80/20 cotton-ish batting for QAYG, but I have so much poly batting that I bought for charity quilting... so I thought, 'why not try it'? It makes such a lightweight, fluffy quilt. So far, so good. The first six blocks look awesome! Your blocks have come alive!
I had 25 blocks and needed only 12 apiece for two lap quilts, so I'm putting one of my bonus blocks on the back. It looks great with the backing fabric. Can't wait to get this together and show you... at least one of the throws, for now.
I always have to refer to the tute for strip width... never can remember!

The dark pink strip at the top of some of the photos will be the front's sashing.

If anyone would like Seasaw's paper pieced heart pattern, pm me your email address and I will send it. I know she would be happy if we shared it. She was kind enough to draw it out for me when she was feeling better, in the last boom we did. <3<3

Jaba, they are all sitting patiently in plastic container. When I go by them they scream pick me, pick me. I am on a real roll but don't have much time till I will be staying at lake. I only bring my small sewing machine out there. Great for piecing blocks but not for big projects. Next is granddaughters quilt which isn't from a boom.

Well, here's my first of the two lap quilts... Strawberry Lemonaid! Your blocks are amazing. One of Terri's blocks gets to have the whole back to itself! If you don't see your block here, it will be in the next lap quilt. I have 12 blocks left to make one more.
I LOVE this quilt! It's going to be very, very hard to give away.

KASS, those octagon blocks of yours would make amazing quilted pillows!

I have quilted four sets of boom blocks into two quilts, have one other flimsy made from two groups of blocks waiting for a trip to the LA, and just over the weekend put my space blocks for my nephew that are from the last boom together in a flimsy. I just need to find a cool border fabric for it. I think boom 15 blocks are the only other ones I haven't touched. i am currently working on a bookshelf quilt, so boom blocks will have to wait.
Speaking of a bookshelf quilt, I am thinking of QAYGing it in strips and having the shelf be the sashing. Any reason why that won't work? Any suggestions? I want to quilt around the books and I don't think I can do that on a LA.
And, Libster, I took your advice and took the teal ruffles off the crib skirt for my niece, replaced it with a blue box pleat, used the same blue with the purple in the baby quilt to tie it all together and she loved it.
Y'all are so awesome!
