Just stopped by to say hi to all my friends. I've missed you all. I now have internet again thanks to my youngest daughter Victoria. Bless her heart she didn't want me feeling so isolated since the move to the middle of nowhere. She knew how much I missed all my quilting friends. Unpacking has been slow going. I haven't done any sewing since May and miss it so much. Everything is in my sewing room, just not organized yet. I hope to get it done soon.My health has been doing a little better since the move as well. I hope to join in the swaps again soon. I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. I'm going to be watching to see what everyone gets this month.

Lori I hope all is well with Marty. Please say hello for me.

Oh, maybe ... and then again, maybe not. Have to wait and see. I took it to the Post Office today, so it's on its way.

Enjoy cool weather those that have it -- today it was in low 80's and humid AGAIN. Not exactly the right conditions to feel festive or be in the mood for sleigh bells and snowmen. Since moving down here from the Lake Ontario area, I have a real problem decorating with snowmen. They just don't seem to fit in. But crawfish season is just around the corner, and the natives are all making home-made pralines and divinity for the holiday.

SharonAnne -- Cortisone shot not so bad -- over with quickly. No worse than novacaine. But if it works right, the comfort is well worth it afterwards! Just don't look.

Totally off subject -- our African Spur land tortoise, who weighs in at about 34 lbs now, has started laying eggs. At least now we know for sure that "Ingrid" is really "Ingrid" and not "Otto". They are really hard to determine gender until they become mature. Her eggs are the size of a small chicken egg, same shape, pure white. She lays about two every other day or so -- we've found 10 so far. Now just think about it -- a body trapped in a hard shell pushing out eggs the size of its head -- ouch! How do they all fit inside? And my daughter who is almost 6 months pregnant thinks that she's uncomfortable. Poor Ingrid.

This is the owl that I found in the magazine that I posted about.
I used a large button and hot glued it for the base.
Well that looks like blue snow-covered houses to me, so here's hoping! Loooove that owl too. Just send it anyway. Thank you.

Nancy~ do the eggs just lay there until they are ready to hatch? They don't need "warmed" like chicken eggs? How long till they hatch? Very cool....

Louise~the owl is very cute!

Lovely packages coming in. I worked on my SP's yesterday evening and i do hope she likes what i made. I still have a few things to do before it goes in the mail. Weather here: balmy 70s and sunny so its a good day to go out and take in the fresh air.

SharonAnne,
Please take care of yourself. I understand the leg pain issue though mine is more RLS with MS. I had a cortisone shot not too long ago and yes it does hurt but like someone here said the relief outweighs that. Just don't look and breathe deeply. I don't like those shots but the relief is so good however do keep doing your exercises when you can. Right now i'm laid up in bed since my legs are hurting but in a 1/2 hour I'll be up and moving. Pray that you get better!

Lori, with all you have going on you are a strong woman and I pray that you have the rest and peace of mind to know that you will be ok. We're here for ya!

Everyone, enjoy your day today. We all have something to be thankful for, family, friends and all! Don't forget to keep Krystyna in your prayers!

No "Otto" tortoise, so the eggs are unfertilized. She tries to bury them in her bedding (wood shavings) but we try to retrieve them before she plows over them and crushes them. She's pretty big.
