Laquita, thinking of you and your family, take care of yourself as well.

Louise, thinking of you and your Mom as well.

I haven't found my ring, so my wonderful husband bought me a new one yesterday.

I was just relaxing and reading back, I'm so glad I did because I missed a hint as to what my partner likes, gives me something to go on. Ill get back to work tomorrow. I need a vacation after my vacation, laundry is almost caught up but I can't believe how dusty the house is after 10 days away. It's driving me crazy!

I want to say THANK YOU to everyone for your prayers, and thoughts.

Today I had a wonderful conversation with a Palliative Care Doctor and
he told me that is was a consensus amongst him and TWO other doctors
who have been providing care for my mom that the dementia is at the
"end" stages thus is why she has stopped eating and drinking.

So with that arrangements was made with hospice to come and talk to us
about it and "evaluate" moms condition. Of course they came OVER 2 hours
AFTER we got her calmed down (again) so she was semi-sleeping and pretty
"mellow"

The hospice nurse said she needed to consult with the hospice Dr (who is at
another hospital and has NOT been in on moms care). 45 minutes later this
nurse came back to moms room to inform us that mom was not "near enough"
to death so she was declined acceptance to hospice.

So now we have to wait..... again for a "bed" to become available in a skilled
nursing facility so that mom can get palliative care.

To say that my temper is just SLIGHTLY under the boiling stage would be a
bit of an understatement.

I asked the nurse just HOW close to dead did my mom have to be? because
without her central line she will be back to starving and dehydration and darn
near death AGAIN within 2 weeks.

Sorry for my ranting, it just makes me made to KNOW that there are people
who have been in hospice for months and I know 2 people who have been in
hospice for OVER a year.

Oh well mom WILL be taken care of by a caring group of Palliative Care nurses,
doctors and staff. That is the most important thing for me.

I hope to get back to the pincushion this weekend providing life doesn't go wonky
on me again.

I am so sorry that I have not gotten my stuff finished and in the mail already.

QUILTY HUGS my friends.

Louise

QL it's ok to 'blow' - so sorry you're having to go thru this.. It's ok to talk on here - I know it helps. Don't worry about your 'stuff' getting finished, you have lots on your mind, it'll get done eventually. I'm sure everyone understands... HUGS to you.

I second Oksewnsew's comments QuiltyL. Vent to us any time. It sounds terribly frustrating!

Louise, that is awful. How long do they plan on keeping the line in place? I'm betting her status would change in a few days once its removed. You would have thought the doctors would have had that conversation prior to telling you that then changing everything. Big cyber quilting hugs!

Mailed my partner's pincushion today to her.

QL, can you talk with another hospice company? Every state is different, in Oklahoma if they could not form a complete sentence then they were eligible for hospice, this is how they took care of my Papaw three or four days a week at the nursing home, they took care of him for about two years. I would get your doctors to call the other doctor or nurse administrator. My mom did all this so I don't know the process but as a nurse I know my doctor would make those phone calls, I would, or type up letters. I hope that helps and it okay to vent, you just want the best care for you momma. I will keep you in my prayers!
