this is what i do with scraps... i cut them into strips (1,2 and 3") and sew them end to end then roll them like jelly rolls. they come in really handy for fast log cabins and bargellos. especially if you stich and slash. it's also easier to identify and store the rolls on old cd holders.
Rhonda do you make the tumbler tool too! Or is there a way for me to make one?
I love all your ideas and scrappy blocks. I don't have enough scraps to join so I will just keep watching you all.

Be positive and dream big!
owlvamp, I have lots of scraps, if you pay postage, I will be glad to send you some.
Sorry no I don't have the tumbler tool. If I had the dimensions I could ask Bob (the friend who cuts for me) if he would cut them. I know he won't do circle stuff. but he has done some special orders for me as long as they are square or rectangular.

I thought I grew scraps but you ladies put me to shame. Do you ever stop shopping and just use those for a while? I mean if you keep bringing it in how do you erraticate the left overs? I get real nervous with too many. If I plan to use them great but otherwise I just dont like piles at all. I have a little three foot long shelf with stacks of smaller than f8's and boy that is all I can do. It sounds like I am in the minority?

Here today... why what a lucky bunch we are.
" le brat " I don't save mine either, and you already know what I get rid of

I don't have a lot of scraps, just about one typical tub worth--and only that because I've been given most of them. But I use them fairly often. I often use scraps from quilts to make pillows or something that coordinates as I go along. I also give some away if I won't use them or think someone would particularly enjoy some of them. My daughter plays with them. But then, how many of us would really use all the fabric in our stash anyway, no matter what size it is?

I am more about resources. I love to have as many scraps as I can. then when I am wanting a particular fabric or color I go through all my scraps til I find something that works. I don't like to throw anything away! that is so wasteful and there are so many quilters who can't afford fabric that would dearly love to have scraps someone doesn't want.
