Eventually I'll probably do this.....old towel as foundation, cut to size or maybe doubled over, foundation piece down scraps, and bind. The one in the picture isn't bound, and I guess the edges could be zig-zagged, but in my experience, towels fray pretty bad. It looks like a fast and useful way to use scraps. I don't think it need be limited to the bathroom either.

if you haven't seen it yet I did a tutorial on using color in the same quilt block made with HSTs. Some of what I used is scrappy and I thought you might like to see them.

Here is the block I received from the last swap. Isn't it awesome? I don't think I've ever met a log cabin block or variation I don't like. This one is in colors I love and would use myself. It kind of reminds me of a snails trail block too, which I also love. Thank you TooManyUFOs!
