I ruler fold as well. It's where you lay your fabric out, folded like it was on the bolt, and the lay your 6x24" ruler close to the cut end....6" side at the top, 24" along the cut. Tuck the end & start folding the fabric as you roll the ruler along. This works well for most cuts, even 6 yards. For less than a yard I fold the finished 'roll' in half so it's 6"x12" and store those on another shelf.
