Does anyone know the name of the alternating block you used? I think it really makes the 4 patches pop. We used sashing between each 4 patch and the quilt was a little busy for my taste.
I just used strips around the 4-patches. I strip pieced them with alternate strips to the ends of the white, and then just cut and fit to the center block to which I had added the "white" strips. I don't know if this is a log cabin variation or not. I would love to be in CA for a visit, but the classes I taught are in NE Mo. Have one tentatively set up for SE Iowa in the fall. I strive to look for blocks that would accommodate the s&w technique, but like you and others, the "frog in a blender" doesn't work for my eyes. It seems to me that some alternative settings allow the blocks to shine.

Beautiful job! I love the pattern with the posy patches- the absolute nicest I have seen with that block!

What is S&W? This is a dumb question, but how do you make an on-point quilt? I love how they look.

Kellyer21, there is no such thing as a dumb question. Matter of fact, I think I asked the same exact one when I started on my quilting journey about 5 years ago and now it is my go-to thing. Stack and Whack. I sent you a private message.
