    What a wonderful blessing these will be to each of the students. Your work is amazing.

    Do you have pictures of the others that you can share? How did you decide what to do for each of the students? Where did you find all the different fabrics?

    Have a Great Quilty Day!

    Leah = Melly ?????
    Brina=Rachel ????

    It used to be so simple back in my day. ;) :lol: ;)

    Beautiful quilts, and a ton of work. I'm sure each kid will treasure his/her personalized wallhanging.

    Hi Pam - I have all 20 pictures plus one I made for a Christmas present and another for my cousin. I'll post more....thanks for asking. Also I found most of the fabrics on line as all the embroidery designs and Hebrew lettering. If you'd like the sites, I can send you them.

    As far as deciding what to do for each student, the rule of thumb was that no parent or student could pick what they wanted or what designs. They could pick a color scheme but that was it. You won't believe how many parents tried to get me to "do them a favor and not tell anyone". HA! Anyway, I tried to match up the designs by what fabrics I used and just tried to go with a theme. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, but they all came out very nice if I say so myself. I'll post more.

    You are right about Leah, not sure about Brina, but it does read that way. I can read Hebrew but only with vowels. So some of the names I can't make out. But I had all the parents write them out so there wouldn't be any errors.

Every year the parents are asked to participate in a "parent gift project". Every student is invited to each of the Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and it can get quite expensive. My nephew's class had 22 kids. So the parents agree that one gift will be given to each of the students, that way they don't have to bring individual gifts to each function. This year, my sister asked me if I would want to make a wall hanging for each of the students (yup, I got paid for them). Here are a few for girls and boys. Hope you like them. I designed them each myself, most of them have two embroidered designs and two applique designs. I had so much fun making them. I have completed 20 of them so far. As much as I have enjoyed making them, I'm glad the project is almost over. It's been over a year since I have started making them. I just have my nephews to make and one girl who will have her Bat Mitzvah this summer in Israel. The designs have their English name, Hebrew name, English date of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah and the Hebrew date.
    Those designs are really nice... Embroidered are more beautiful. Well done. If you want many more bat mitzvah gift ideas then go for Yaldah magazine which is the complete hamper of gifts for little Jewish girls.
