Or at least a row of bricks got finished! My first attempt at quilting a REAL QUILT on the Long Arm. At the end of the row the thread started breaking. Couldn't find anything wrong when I went through the check list so I started adjusting the tension... I messed it up so bad that I have to take the long arm in to have someone show me how to adjust it! I could not get the stitches right after that.

Not perfect but I'm gaining control slowly.

Looks like you are off to a great start. I have only spent 30 seconds on a LA at a quilt show, and I really want to get one in the future.

I am sure someone could show you have to adjust the stitches and once that is accomplished, you will be in LA heaven! Save a seat for me, will ya?

I don't know what kind of LA you have but have you ever heard of a TOWA Guage? It will allow you to test your bobbin tension and set it correctly. Then setting top tension is a breeze. Do a Google search and you'll find all sorts of info, sellers and videos. Good Luck!

    Your stitching looks very nice!!

Before you take your machine head in, try this. Adjust the bobbin tension so that when you lay the bobbin in your hand (inside the bobbin case) and lift up on the thread, the bobbin case stands up on end but doesn't leave your hand. Next, loosen it a bit more so that when you are holding the thread and give your wrist a slight downward shake (like dropping a yoyo), the bobbin unwinds about 4 inches or so.

Next, loosen the thread tension on your machine head nearly all the way. Start sewing, and gradually tighten the upper tension until you can just BARELY see the bobbin thread peeking through.
