Default Getting Ready For Sashing

I am working on a Braid quilt, and was seriously thinking of using black for the sashing, but my sister recently gave me some rich medium tan. I have two yards. In this picture a few of the pieces I've used in the braids seem to melt into it, but that is just the lighting. How do you think this would look?

Personally I think Black for the sashing as the colours in the Braid will 'Pop' more against it. But then I do love Black

My problem is that several of the strips are black, and some are the tan shade. I wonder if I should think in the direction of a medium grey...

consider a 1" black on either side of the tan and see if that works.
