WOW! Some of these old quilts are off-the-charts amazing - like this one. I am always stunned by how beautiful they are, even when the colors or patterns aren't my "first choice." I love the energy old quilts have. Thanks for sharing these photos - that border is really something!

That's the most beautiful Dresden quilt I've seen. You've inspired me to take a second look at these type of quilts. To think your mother did this without all the modern tools we now use is amazing. Thanks for showing a close-up of the border. She was truly an excellent quilter!

those little pieces were all saved and then cut one at a time. Beautifully done and nicely conserved.
Heirlooms like this need to be taken care of.
