I think it should be called ' Starry starry night' 'cos that's what it reminded me of! (and I think I saw some owls!)

Oh, your baby quilt is so absolutely gorgeous! It reminds me of a beautiful starry night...so beautiful! Funny thing, i have a similar pattern that i made up a few months ago, at least i think i made it up :), but it might already exist somewhere lol. A year ago, a friend who is a caregiver to his wife asked me if i would make him a quilt...he was trying to give me something positive to do to cheer me up :), so he said he would like stars on it, and bursts of sunlight lol. So i thought and thought about it, and came up with a starburst pattern...but i'm still working on his quilt, it's taken me too long, anyways, here's a photo of my paperpiece pattern i'm doing, but i have to say, i absolutely LOVE yours with the blue and white, it is GORGEOUS, and you've reminded me to get working on my quilt again :)

    Nanobird:
I love your quilt...it's gorgeous. It sorta reminds me of a pattern called Delectable Mountain block that I learned in a class about 6 years ago...your layout is different but I think that your block is similar. I also agree with Moonpi, it also looks like a Bear Claw pattern...or, it could be a sophisticated, uptown, maple leaf????   Whatever the name, yours is lovely.

    Nano:
I love your avatar picture. I love scrap and yours looks gorgeous. I've never done a "Canoe Crossing" block pattern which is i think what you have in the main body of the avatar quilt. Beautiful!

    Barb:
Love your block and your colors...the colors would go sooooooo good in my house! I'm sure once you finish this quilt your friend's husband will love it. I've tried paper piecing and don't do well with it...I guess maybe I need to practice it but the times I've done it I haven't been thrilled with my efforts...might have to give it another try after seeing yours. Thanks for sharing.
