    I was thinking of strip piecing like MamaBear said. It would much simpler to sew the 3 colors into strips and then cut triangles. You could make whatever size you wanted the blocks to be. I'm not good at explanations either but it looks simple enough to me.

    I am working on one similar. Called Starwheels. I will attach picture. I did have to change the pattern a bit , it called for trapezoids and sewing Y seems was way to difficult for me.

    I saw something similar to that on E-Quilt patterns...It was a stain glass pattern...really pretty block...

    Look carefully at the picture, though. The hst are always going in the same direction or even put together the same way. I'd label the different ways some of the blocks are sewn together (block A, block B, and so on) then figure out how many of each you need. Every time I tried, I got confused, so you might want to print a picture that you can write on. That would have helped me. Let us know if you figure it out.
