Any opinions on which way to combine these panels?
1. all color panels randomly joined
2. all diamonds of the same colors
3. combination of one half of each diamond one color in
upper portion and another color in lower portion
I plan to 'float' finished top with a row of black around the whole quilt, then maybe a border of color, then black and finished with black binding.

I love the second picture the best But anyway would be great You are doing a wonderful job I like your idea of finishing it with the black border and then a color one and another black with binding or maybe you could make the binding up of the different colors

Personally, I like the top and bottom pics best - don't really care for the middle arrangement. But I just love the bright colors and how they pop against the black. It's going to be lovely no matter how you put it together.

oh - another question for experienced quilters:
does anyone know if I could get rid of the thread pieces all over both sides by putting the pieces into the dryer on "air fluff" setting (no heat)? Sounds quicker than trying to remove them with a lint roller but I sure don't want to risk having to re-press all those pieces before finally sewing them all together (once I've weighed your "votes" on the arrangements, that is!).
Thanks so much, everyone; you're such a God-send for this newbie.
