Thank you for sharing. My daughter is a first grade teacher and you just gave me an idea for a gift for her. Never would have thought of this on my own.

That is just precious, being a retired 1st grade teacher, I am sure she will love this and treasure it for years to come. When I was teaching we often made plaster hand prints that could be hung up, for Mother's Day gifts. I still have my own two children's plaster hand prints, they are now 41 and 38- my how time does fly. So glad you put each child's name with their print and dated the quilt. May I make suggestion, if you can gain access to a class picture, list the names on the back of the picture while you grandson can still remember who each classmate is and give a picture along with the quilt. It is hard to picture in one's mind each child in a class after a while because there are so many over the years, and being able to identify the child's name with their picture would be great.
