    Default Teacher Appreciation Quilt

This is a quilt I made for my grandson's kindergarten teacher. The doodlebugs each had a block with their name embroidered on it and then their handprint in fabric paint. I will be presenting this to her next week at Kindergarten Graduation. I choose black and white since her classroom is in zebra print and thought that black and white would be timeless and would go with any decor in the future. Whether she keeps it in her room or takes it home.

Beautiful. I am doing feet and hand prints of my grand daughters every year around their birthdays and when they are 21 I will make them a quilt from them.

For my first sampler quilt years ago, I quilted an outline of each of my children's hands. It turned out really cute, the hands were three-dimensional and puffy. Every so often they would get on their bed and compare their hands to the quilted ones to see how much they had grown.
