    I see you are from Bardstown. I spent most of my summers on my grandma's farm in Bardstown, the lane back to her farm bordered the Jim Beame property, there was an elevated slop tank along the lane where farmers use to fill their trucks with the mash to feed their cattle and hogs. Grandma sold some of her land to the distillery so they could build big curing barns. Seeing your location brings back a lot of fond memories. I haven't been out there in years but my sister who lives in Shelbyville tells me I wouldn't recognize the area.

    Oh I remember when my husband had to use the chair. It was a long 2 weeks, but worth it for sight. Hope all goes well.

    all are just lovely gifts your doily brought a lil tear to my eyes I just sat there and stared at it a while remembering my sister she did some beautiful crocheting she was not a sewer...... sadly she pass on in 1991 from cervical cancer I never got the knack of it,

    i hope you hubby's eye healed perfectly. Can't imagine how he was able to sit like that for two weeks!

    I think hand made gifts are the best, it show there's love and caring that goes with them. I try to make as many of mine every year as I can. that is the point of gift giving in my thoughts.
