Maple leaf is cross stitched in varigated red floss. It will be the centre square of a fabric quilt, I hope.

Works4me - fantastic job on the maple leaf! I didn't dare say anything about the pencil until now, I was too nervous for you, but you've well and truly got rid of it. Big sigh of relief!

QuiltE - those are great tea cosies that you have found.
Dublb - can't wait to see you first tea cosy!

The best selection of tea cosies I have ever seen is on Ebay in this country. There are some very creative ladies selling their wares there. Today I have typed in tea cosies (spelt the English way) in the search box and come up with 3407 results. No shortage of inspiration there then. Also, there is this quilt at post 47 on another thread, which I can't believe isn't a tea cosy!

Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!!!
There's been a lot of work to get your leaf to this stage .... does it get easier from here on?

I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes together after this!

Would you share the pattern for this with me or let me know where I might purchase it? Amazing! Love it!

Unfortunately, it doesn't get easier. It looks like all the blocks are appliqued. I haven't decided if I try hand or machiner applique yet. Either way, the first one is going to be scary-looking as I am seriously out of practice.

Muv's the applique expert ... maybe she'll give you some refresher lessons ... and the cheer you on.

I can only cheer ... as I've done very very very little applique, machine or hand!

Works4me - if you want to do applique I will be posting pictures in the next few days. I don't know what my method is called but it works a treat. No fiddling about with little pieces, no freezer paper, no spray starch, no turning under tiny little hems, no agony with curves and corners, no fraying (have I sold it to you yet?) and if you don't want to do blanket stitch you could zigzag over the raw edges.
