Scaaaaaaaary indeed the way you two are!!
Love the picture ... and perhaps that's what my 2013 patriotic should be? The horse in the mountie uniform! \
Proves ... I must have lived a deprived childhood (and life) ... I know the names of the characters, but their story lines? not!

Oh that would be fun QuiltE to see your version of a horse in a Mountie Uniform.
I worked on FMQ practice mats yesterday. I know Im improving however today I am going to focus on the tension and how fast, slow I move the material. I only pinned my sandwich together and didnt get the smooth results I wanted on the back..so today Im going to try using the spray baste and see how it differs for me. Im thinking I would like to try using the quilt a block at a time and attaching them with the sashing. Im going to have to watch the lesson several more times. But I know until I actually do it hands on, Im not going to get it. So putting my nose to the grind stone today and Im going to work on more practice mats and if I happen to get to feeling comfortable enough will try and quilt one of my BOM's I have hanging on the wall.
How are our traveling quilters doing.. some scenic pictures of your adventures Im sure would be interesting to all of us.
Have a beautiful day ladies.

ha! I am NOT the creative one ... like you Jenniky!!!!
You'll notice a big difference with the spray basting ... it holds it all together ever so well.
So the practice blocks ... are they going to be the join together blocks? or is that a different quilt?
One gal I know made oodles of placemats as she practiced FMQ.
Now she makes a new one, every time she sets her machine up to start a new FMQ project ... an eclectic setting for the table and kind of like a trip down the quilting memory lane as you eat!
From something I read .... take a print fabric and FMQ around the designs to learn control. Could be a paisley, or flowers or a novelty print or most anything. I haven't done it yet, though I think it;d be a good way to practice and get more smoothness into curves etc.
Jenniky ... your first work looked pretty good to start, so I can only imagine how great it;s becoming as you work at it.

Good morning ladies! I was just trying to catch up with some of the posts and I am just in awe of all the talent displayed here! I am practicing with my new computerized quilting set up and then need to get started on the numerous tops I have waiting to be quilted.
Course, the morning started out early and strange and stressful. Youngest DD who is living and going to grad school in New Zealand, is visiting Bali and called because she is very sick, fever, shaking chills, and gastrointestinal problems. Being a nurse, she seems to think I can help even when I am so far away. It drives me crazy that I can't go to her, but I did convince her to go to the hospital as it could be Malaria or Dengue Fever. The last time she was in Bali, she had food poisoning. This seems worse with the fever, shaking chills and joint pain. So please send healing thoughts heavenward for her.
So, she is on the way to the hospital and I am to call her in 2 hours....I think I will try to catch a nap, and then perhaps get back to practicing my quilting so I can get those tops done.
Have a pleasant and creative day all.

Actually the Mats Im making are for JR's Potty Pad. Our little Yorkie is trained to do his business in the bathroom on a Acrylic Pad that uses disposable paper pads that need to be changed out. I have made several washable mats that we change through out the day instead of using the expensive paper pads. Also I have some squares from when I first started quilting, Im thinking of taking all the mismatched squares and quilting them and making a blanket to donate to the Veteran's Home. I will start on placemats for the table or table runners. I bought a huge roll of batting so I have plenty of materials to work on.
