OK you guys are going to think i'm REALLY cheep, but i got an idea from my sis-in=law AKA best friend. We use old clothes for scrap quilts :-) right now i'm making my gr-girls butterfly wall hangings from a Quilters World pattern i found on line. the black backgrounds are old dress pants and the butterflys are dress shirts. I also heard about a Hospice group that i thought was neat. The volunteers make Teddy Bears out of a favorite shirt or piece of clothing from the loved one who has passed away. Neat huh?

I've made several of the teddy bears. I call them memory bears.I made them for my nieces and nephews out of their grandparents clothing.

Love the teddys. I have a TATW that my grandmother pieced. I look at it and think "I remember Grandma wearing that dress, and that one, and that one and oh, that one was one of her favorite."

I have baskets and boxes--some sorted some not--of just scraps. I use scraps when I have to do just a block or two for some sort of project with a group. I have a strippy basket that I hope to make a string/strippy quilt from some day. I love shopping in my stash!
