What was the cabbage and noodles recipe anyway. I know I really liked it but I forgot how to make it.
I am a senior citizen with a very good memory But it is short!!

Sounds like an interesting combo ... cabbage and noodles?

Maybe this is it. If not, it's a tasty recipe anyway!

Halushki

You will need a very large skillet…

1 large head of cabbage, shredded
1 large onion, chopped (more if you really like onions…I do!)
1 pound fatty bacon
1 pound egg noodles
salt and pepper to taste

Cook egg noodles as directed on package. Drain. Meanwhile, cut bacon into small pieces and fry until crisp. Remove from skillet and remove part of the bacon fat (reserving at least two tablespoons) and add copped onion. Fry until tender. Add shredded cabbage and cook until cabbage is tender. Add cooked egg noodles. Mix thoroughly. Enjoy!

Forgot to tell you to add the bacon back in! (although you probably knew to do that!)

Another good recipe is cabbage (well cooked) mashed into potatoes w/s&P and butter. I think it is Irish. A little garlic is good too.

If it's Irish, it's COLCANNON
If it's English, it's BUBBLE AND SQUEAK
If it's Polish, it's HALUSKI
If it's on my plate, it's ALL MINE!
