Love, love ,love this quilt, I went to the library yesterday to see if they had this book . I want to do one so bad but read that for some the book is not enough to go by for the pattern.

So a year and a half and almost 5000 pieces. Any idea how many hours you spent on it?

I'm going to start on a patterned Baltimore Album quilt this summer to see if I can do even that much applique. I LOVE Dear Janes, but they're so intimidating! How did you psyche yourself up to get started on it? How many hours a day or week do you think you spent on it? How did you find all of the fabric for it? How did you decide which blocks to put in it, or did you stick exactly with the original designs? Please, please, please answer these for me!

Your quilt is AMAZING! Love the scallop edge border. Love the traditional muted colors. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

beautiful work ~ I keep telling my DD "I will never do a DJ, it will make me want to quit quilting!" I have great admiration for those of you who have the patience for such beautiful quilts!

Hudgoddess, I didn't keep track of the hours I worked on it but I will tell you some of the blocks take longer than others. I just bought fats and eights of fabric because some of the blocks don't take alot. I did stay with the original colors as close as possible and we had a plan to follow to start and stay on schdule. Look under the BOM at the bottom of the page and you will find tons of info. All the gals that are making one are very helpful and supportive too.
    Thankyou for the comments!
