    Default Displaying a quilt

I have made a quilt to give to my son and future daughter-in-law at their rehearsal dinner. I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas about how to display the quilt. It is a destination wedding at Ocean Isle Beach, NC. The manager at the venue told me he could rent the metal poles that are used in convention booths to drape fabric over. I'm not real sure what this looks like. I asked if I could use 3M Command Adhesive hooks and he said no. (damage to walls) Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

an easy solution is skirt hangers- the ones with the clips you can clip using 2, 3 or 4 ---how ever many needed to distribute the weight evenly then hang the *hanger-hook* over the metal poles (assuming they are frame style)
or plastic clamps to clamp the quilt around the poles- if they are only side poles with no top-horizontal one- i guess you need to see what he is talking about to figure out what is going to work-

There are also curtain ring with clips on them. You would need to know the size of the horizontal pole to make sure they would fit.

You need to see what he is talking about. At our museum we have some 'screens' that are made to hang art / pictures on. I've used them to hang quilts, but since they are only about 6' tall, I have to drape the quilt over the top which loses about 12 to 15 inches of the quilt for frontal viewing. Also, some convention halls have had quilt shows and have their own hanging methods......so, depending on what he can provide, you can either use the clips mentioned earlier or perhaps some magnetic clips that you can purchase at Staples. Lots of options on what they have so check it out early and you will figure out something appropriate.
