[QUOTE=mic

I have had my Fiskars since the 70's and they are still being used. I also have Ginghers (but they are too heavy and awkard for my small hands. I really like my soft-grips Fiskars that I purchased in the 80's or early 90's.

You can buy them on ebay for under $20 or use a guy called The Scissorman and buy them from him. Buy what you are comfortable with and using, but scissors are an investment, and will last, last and possibly outlive you.
Same here, I agree on the Kai, love them , yu can also buy them from Kai.com, great service and their true left handed scissors are wonderful for leftys, got them for my granddaughter

Same here. And I too have threatened my family with bodily harm if they ever use them for anything but cutting fabric.

Check out Ginghers on Amazon, very reasonable price, and very good quality scissors.

For the people who had the link problem on the word scissors, I did not put that on there. I am not even sure why it did that.

I have Gingher, Kia, Fiskars, but hand down, the best I have found are the Bordeaux. I found several sizes at Tuesday Morning a few years ago at a very reasonable price, but I would have purchased them no matter what the price. You can find them at Nancy Notions and many other places. They are made by Clover. using them is like cutting through butter.

Ditto for Kai ones. I bought mine there for less than retail plus free prime shipping.
