Welcome, a picture would help. Pictures generally need to be reduced in order to post here.

Minnesota was a name put on machines that were sold at Sears. They were made by a variety of manufacturers. such as Davis, White and Domestic. It appears that they even used the same model numbers, even though made by different manufacturers.

Some links for you to look at regarding Minnesota machines are:

http://needlebar.org/cm/thumbnails.php?album=270&page=2
http://ismacs.net/sears/sears.html

You will also find a search box for this site in the upper right corner. If you put in "Minnesota C" with the quotation marks you will find some threads here. This thread will probably be listed first There is one thread that is 1792 pages long, and unfortunately if you click on that one, it will not take you to the exact page that talks about Minnesota C

Do you have any other vintage machines?

I have a pfaff 130, eureka knock off for a singer, vintage new home and a featherlite. I was so excited about getting this treadle up and running because it comes with everything i was sad to find out the back side of the needle bar is rusted. It will still be a great conversation piece. How do i upload a photo?

I'm not sure about the photo myself, but for upload there is the picture icon in the toolbar, the tricky thing is not having the picture too large. You can alway link to a public image bin or album you have on the web too.

Don't be too sad with the rust on the New Home needle bar, rust usually comes off with a bit of cleaning and polishing. I swear by a paste called Quick-Glo for the steel and chromed parts, but there are other suitable polishes too. If the needle bar is damange, a replacement might turn up. Since your machine is complete and in good nick otherwise, it's probably worth the time and effort to have it sorted out.

Generally it is mostly about oiling and getting the parts to move, though any rust should ideally be removed. The needle bar is usually easy to clean up, I think it's hardened steel and it tends to clean up with a good polish. Cast iron can need a bit more work when it's far gone, but it's usually only machines in very bad condition that needs special rust removers. I agree with you, I go for a minimal restorations too, keeping the origial as intact as possible. Rust and grime as to go though.

There are several threads about how to post a photo. One is my post White Rotary which tells how I resize photos to post. It links to Newbie to Vintage Machines and to Online Forums-Help wanted and Which would you choose? which have screen shots and arrows on how to post.

I'm going to guess that the Eureka is a 15-clone and there is a thread about them at Will the Real 15 clone please stand up It is 24 pages long, but a lot of clones.

There is a thread about a variety of New Home Machines at New Home Vintage Sewing Machines Club it is 8 pages long.

Is your Featherlite like https://groups.io/g/Vintage_Featherl...ewing_Machines or https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...wing-140020769 It has been mentioned here, but I don't remember a thread about their personal machine, hint, hint . Or is it a Singer 221?

I hope you get your Minnesota up and running. I didn't think I would like treadling but it really is fun.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.
