I created a "monster" with my BFF just this year; but as I was creating her, I also let he know that quilting is a big part of bein creative. She is doing great!
Try using the creative points when talking to your sister. Maybe she still hasn't let out her "creative" nature yet. GL!

Your story reminds me of my daughter, the freshman psychology major, who came home after her first semester telling us which stage our marriage was in and why her siblings were behaving appropriately for their ages. We smiled and told her how interesting her classes sounded.

My bobbin thread is not always the same color as the top thread.
I incorrectly mix my fabrics in the same quilt. ( Joanns, WalMart and LQS) Oh! The horror!!
I sometimes use a sheet for backing.
I sometimes use dishes, lids or whatever instead of proper templates.
I don't really NEED all the rulers I have.
I don't always follow the pattern.
Bless her well meaning heart, I love her dearly but if she says just ONE MORE thing about my methods or lack thereof, I will beat her to death with my stash.
I sent her the link to this board, she will learn much more here from all of you talented folks.

Just wait, she will be calling you to get advice and instruction. One class, and she is an expert? A little knowledge is dangerous for some. She will forget everything she learned unless she puts it to work. She will be at your knee wanting to learn.....BTW my DH says an X spurt....is a past tense drip.
