    That's because Brother only wants qualified techs doing anything to their machines. Even the lower end machine manuals say not to oil it. But they do need to be cleaned and oiled once in a while.

    Gosh, this would make a great tutorial on that other site...the one about the Victorians in sweaters, or whatever...

    Maybe some day... I am thinking I may not have the pictures any more unless I can do screen shots. Hhhhmmmmm a lot of water has gone over the dam since then so maybe a little rewrite some time. And then only if Glenn is on board with follow up. I think he was getting worn out with that.

    Miriam - you should be able to right click on your original photos in this thread, and then "save as" to your computer. I'd love to see this put into a .pdf file that could be printed and put into my notebook for future reference :-)

    I'm thinking that Redeye had white tape and we removed it before we did the finish. I don't know why we didn't include that in the tutorial.
