I have one on my left shoulder..my son did it for me for my 55th birthday..it's a quilt patch..with a banner.."Born to Quilt" I'll try to download a picture of it..it didn't hurt like I thought it would !!

I knew a girl who was abused and molested for most of her childhood. When she was grown she had tattoos put on parts of her(I don't know where they are)body to remind herself of the things that had happened to her. She would tell you her story if you asked and point out the different tattoos and tell what they signified. Maybe the telling was her therapy, I don't know.

He was a really nice guy that was turned away by many after he came back home. People didn't like them and wouldn't listen to why he had them. To this day I can't stand to see tattoos. They remind me of how he had been so mistreated first by the Japanese and then by his fellow countrymen.
Thank you for this simple lesson. Some good has come of this sad story.
