I have one on my left shoulder..my son did it for me for my 55th birthday..it's a quilt patch..with a banner.."Born to Quilt" I'll try to download a picture of it..it didn't hurt like I thought it would !!

I have my tat on my left upper arm (so it will be covered when I work, rules ya know). Anyhow I agree with the hurting part. It didn't hurt much. At least I was able to bear it and some parts it didn't hurt at all. It just depended on which part of the arm he was doing at the time.

I knew a girl who was abused and molested for most of her childhood. When she was grown she had tattoos put on parts of her(I don't know where they are)body to remind herself of the things that had happened to her. She would tell you her story if you asked and point out the different tattoos and tell what they signified. Maybe the telling was her therapy, I don't know.

This truely is a sad story. Your pain is obvious. Please think about this. It isn't the tats that caused this pain it is the people who couldn't see past them. Makes me feel a little kinder to those more different than me.
Thank you for this simple lesson. Some good has come of this sad story.
