A clean space clears your mind and makes it easier to creative. Glad you were able to tackle the mess.

Boy! I hear you on this one! I made a resolution this past fall to tidy up my room after every project...do something with the scraps and the leftover material. It just kept piling up and then I would end up having this tiny area to work in. Plus, what would be a 10-15 minute job turned into a whole evening which is what I did the other evening. Lo and behold, I found that missing pair of scissors and ruler under a stack of fabric.

But I tell you - this trying to stay on top of things not just in my sewing room but in the whole house is exhausting! Not sure if I can keep it up. Hardly have time to sew!

I totally agree. Trouble is, I have this huge ongoing conflict between being naturally untidy and not functioning well in messy surroundings. I've been trying for years to learn to clear up as I go along, but it doesn't come easily.
I've now done the same exercise in every room of my (small) house. There's still a lot to be done, but at least everything's in neat piles, and today I'm going to the charity shop, the recycling and the tip.
