A guild member has a Janome and her bobbin case kept jumping out. The janome dealer didn't know what the problem was and couldn't help. She said she even called a jamone tech and he didn't know either. One of the guild members said oil the wick and showed her where it was. That solved the problem. The guild member told the dealer about oiling the wick and the dealer insisted she should never oil the machine! The wick wasn't a wick for oil. I won't repeat what the guild member told her but I bet the dealer won't tell any one else not to oil the wick. LOLOLOL

I am not surprised any more how little machine dealers know about what they sell. They just know how to make a sale.

I had to have my bobbin case replaced. There was a hair line crack and I didn't even notice

Oh, forgot. if oiling doesn't help it is the take up lever, the thread keeps falling out. This is from a local repairman who said it was a very bad problem with some of the janome models. Also sanding the bobbin case very smooth after it pops out. The bobbin case is usually fine it's the thread that is causing it to jump out. That's all I was told.

Thank you sooo much for your post about the bobbin issue! I was about to take mine in for another expensive service. Instead, my husband looked at it and he put oil in the little groove below the bobbin case and it works great! Doesn't get oil on what I sew. I just wish they would tell us that!
