I bought some kale at the grocery. This isn't something we usually eat. Now I don't know what to do with it. The only way I ever cook it is to add it to soup. I have made the kale chips. I am looking for a new idea. I decided we need to try some different things. I walked about a mile today. That is all the time I had. Hopefully 2 miles tomorrow.
Eating was ok today. I only had half of a small candy bar. I left the other half laying on the kitchen counter and it disappeared. Since we changed our time last night I sewed extra late until almost midnight. I got a lot done. My baby quilt is layered and marked to quilt. I will FMQ tonight as soon as the laundry is done. I also started cutting another quilt that is a Christmas gift.
I am off of work on Tuesday and it is going to be a me day. I haven't had one in a long time. Kids moving, family things etc. I need to stop at moms tomorrow after work and do some things. I also need to stop in at my uncles. He is 86 and really shouldn't be living alone. I need to take him shopping for some new clothes.

I am in again for November. I have your mom Cindy in my prayers for a great recovery. I am so glad to hear she came through her surgery well. I also am going to pick up some extra veggies to eat on. I want to get back to drinking more water also, because when I do I feel so much better.

I will frequently chop up the kale with all the other veggies that I cook as stir fry. you can also add a little bit to a salad, not too much but some.

I had some kale at a restaurant that had vinegar on it. It was pretty good. Kale chips can be very good if made right.

Good Morning ladies.....was able to bring mom home yesterday, and could sleep in my bed. It felt so good after the uncomfortable hard sofa they had in the room. Where is everyone, we are getting smaller each month.

Okay - your TERRIFIC TUESDAY (early - on a Monday) is Keep the Faith, Fight the Bulge!! This is the beginning of holiday time and lots of pot lucks and buffets are in our immediate future (for me, there've been two so far). Keep that little saying in mind whenever you go out to eat and try to remember (that picture in your mind is soooo good) the scales going DOWN in numbers. Start the holiday out on a Terrific note and I'll try not to put any Taboos on us.....

Hello, I am new to this weight loss group, but sadly not to weight loss itself, or should I say weight gain . Here's hoping that some new fabric will be just the incentive I need.

Checking in ladies. Been so busy this weekend. Went to a Floriani seminar on Saturday and wow did I learn bunches of good info. Did you realize Floriani thread is made here in the USA? I did not know that. And their stabilizers, wow, what a difference using the right stabilizer makes. Then on Sunday, I made a baby quilt from my stash of fabrics I have. Yep, a 60 x 60 quilt all from the stash. I pieced the back as well because I did not have anything really to coordinate with the front so had to use the leftovers from the front to back and quilted and bound it. Ready to give today. That was my focus, is to get it all done for today. Wow, God is so good. When He wants something done, He makes sure you are able. Plus got all other 9 things on my list completed which included a custom quilt for a customer. So much fun, I think the extra hour yesterday helped and the fact I woke up at 4:00 am.

Remember time changes this weekend. Fall back.....we get another hour of sleep.
Hope your mom comes thru the surgery successfully and heals quickly. Remember to take care of you as this is a stressful time. You and your mom will be in my prayers.
